Man arrested after baby girl death in Ottery St Mary

A man has been arrested following the unexplained death of a baby girl in Devon, police said. The 10-month-old was taken to the Royal Devon Exeter Hospital from Ottery St Mary on Monday. The girl, who was brought to hospital unconscious, was transferred to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol but died on Thursday. A 28 year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, police said. He was released on bail until February. The girl has not been formally identified but her next of kin were with her at the time of her death, police said.
