Man charged after teens OD at his house

A Texas man faces criminal charges following the overdose deaths of two high school friends at his home and his alleged failure to call 911, police said. Cullen W. Marino, 22, of Grapevine was charged with criminally negligent homicide. He was drinking and doing multiple drugs at his home with Kyle McNutt, 17, and Chase Nunez, 18, both seniors at nearby Carroll Senior High School Saturday night. The Dallas Morning News said Marino found McNutt and Nunez unresponsive at some point during the night and rather than call for help, he carried them to a bedroom where they were found dead by Marino\'s father the following morning. Police said McNutt and Nunez might have survived, had Marino called 911. \"Any reasonable person, had they found somebody in that condition, would call 911 and try to get some medical aid to that individual,\" Grapevine police spokesman Sgt. Robert Eberling said. \"He simply chose not to.\" Police were unsure whether Marino didn\'t call 911 for fear he\'d be arrested on drug charges, or \"it could be simply he thought they\'ll probably just sleep it off and be OK in the morning, that type of mentality,\" Eberling said. If convicted, Marino faces up to two years in prison.
