A driver slammed her vehicle into a crowded restaurant in the U.S. city of Houston when parking, injuring multiple people, local media said Wednesday.
The driver, a woman who appeared to be in her 60's, hit the gas pedal instead of the brake when parking her Lexus SUV in front of a Mediterranean-style restaurant in southwest Houston Wednesday afternoon, the Houston Chronicle said.
There were dozens of people dining inside at the time. The SUV went through the glass window and dragged a man sitting by the window to the other side of the restaurant.
After the crash, the driver tried reversing the vehicle to exit the restaurant, but somehow put the vehicle in drive once again and hit a buffet line a second time.
Up to 10 people were hurt in the incident. Their injuries are said to be minor. The SUV driver walked away without any injuries. No charges had been filed against her so far.
