Newborn dead in Houston hotel toilet

Houston-area police say they are investigating the death of a newborn baby found in the toilet of a hotel bathroom. A pregnant woman, whose name was not reported, had been temporarily staying with a friend at the West Airport Suites in Stafford, Texas, when the incident occurred. \"She stayed with me a couple of days. She couldn\'t pay for a room, so I let her stay here for a couple of days,\" said Brenda Nichols. Nichols left Tuesday evening to go to the store and when she returned she said she found blood all over the room and the baby dead in the toilet, KHOU-TV, Houston, reported. The pregnant woman was taken to Ben Taub Hospital for treatment. Police are not sure if she had a miscarriage, if the baby was born dead or if there was any foul play, the TV station said.
