
A pilot of MIG-29 fighter jet, who was in poor condition, died at night on Saturday, the hospital’s administration said.
Doctors say, state of the second pilot, who remains at the hospital’s intensive care unit, does not cause fears.
The pilots catapulted in unclear circumstances from a MIG-29 fighter jet near the town of Voskresensk in the southeast of the Moscow region on Thursday.
Radio communications with the MiG-29 piloted by commander Sergei Rybnikov and second pilot Vadim Selivanov were lost at 11:53 Moscow Standard Time on Thursday. At 11:56, it crashed in the Voskresensk district.
The jet, one of a family of MIG-29KUB aircraft, was an experimental sea-based fighter, a spokesman for the MIG Corporation said. The trial testing was done by the Mikhail Gromov Flight Testing Institute.
