Police in Islamabad arrests Mosque Imam on terrorism charges

Police here has arrested an Imam of a local mosque for his possible links with several terrorism acts and also recovered hand-grenades from his possession. Qari Inayat, the imam of the mosque located in G-6 sector of the capital, was arrested on a lead, provided by Sardar Ali Khattak, an already detained low-ranking government official of finance ministry, police sources told KUNA. Sardar Khattak was arrested for providing refuge to suicide bombers from Waziristan and other tribal areas and also for facilitating them. Sources said that police has also recovered hand-grenades from Qari Inayat\'s possession and fake currency notes. They added that he has been shifted to undisclosed location for interrogation.
