
Rescuers have recovered all the bodies of eightteenage boys who drowned a day earlier in a river in southern Malaysia, a fire and rescue official said Saturday, according to dpa."Three of the bodies of the victims were recovered late Friday whilethe five others were recovered Saturday," a fire and rescue officerinvolved in the operation said, but declined to be identified becausehe was not an authorized spokesman.The eight victims, aged between 13 and 16, were among 13 friends whowent for an early-morning jog on Friday along the bank of a river onthe outskirts of Segamat town, 145 kilometres south of Kuala Lumpur.Three of the victims decided to take a swim and allegedly struggledin the water due to strong current. Five others tried to save theirfriends, but were also carried off by the current.
