Rove still behind Crossroads super PAC

Republican strategist Karl Rove said the American Crossroads super PAC \"did good things this year\" despite a low success rate on Election Day. The Sunlight Foundation, an organization that tracks money in politics, determined only about 6 percent of American Crossroads money went to winners on Election Day. In comparison, the Service Employees International Union, which supported Democrats, had a 70 percent success rate. Rove, co-founder of American Crossroads, did not see those results as a sign of failure, The Washington Post reported Saturday. \"We did good things this year,\" Rove said. \"But look, it\'s the way of politics that you\'re going to have some good years, and you\'re going to have some bad years.\" Celebrity real estate tycoon Donald Trump criticized the super PAC\'s record on Twitter. \"Congrats to @KarlRove on blowing $400 million this cycle. Every race @CrossroadsGPS ran ads in, the Republicans lost. What a waste of money,\" he wrote. American Crossroads could now be considering backing candidates at the primary level, where before it only battled in the general elections against Democrats, the Post reported. The idea would be to support a candidate it feels is most electable, avoiding and flawed, extreme candidates.
