Ryan O\'Neal\'s son arrested on heroin charges

Redmond O'Neal, son of actors Ryan O'Neal and Farrah Fawcett, was arrested near Los Angeles for heroin possession and jailed for violating his probation, Santa Monica police said. The 26-year-old was arrested in the early morning hours on Tuesday while driving his vehicle, said Sergeant Richard Lewis. This is not the first time the son of O'Neal, who starred in "Love Story" and is a recurring character on the Fox TV series "Bones," has been in trouble with the law. The younger O'Neal has been on probation since he was arrested in April 2009 for heroin possession while visiting a friend in prison in Castaic, northwest of Los Angeles. Last year, he completed a court-ordered stint in rehab for possession of methamphetamine and heroin. No bond has been set so far, and he was scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
