The Navy said Sunday a senior SEAL commander died of a non-combat injury and there were reports his death was an apparent suicide. The Defense Department said in a release that the death of Cmdr. Job W. Price, 42, of Pottstown, Pa., Saturday in Uruzgan province was under investigation. Price was assigned to a Naval Special Warfare unit based in Virginia Beach, Va. CNN reported a U.S. military official with direct knowledge of the event said Price\'s family had been notified his death from an apparent gunshot wound was being investigated as a suicide. There was no indication Price, a member of SEAL Team 4, was involved in any military-related investigations or controversies, the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said. The Pottstown Mercury reported Price, who is survived by his wife Stephanie and daughter Jillian, 9, of Virginia Beach was a 1989 graduate of Pottstown High School, where he was a standout varsity wrestler and member of the football team. The newspaper said he also was an academic standout and member of the National Honor Society.
