A small paramilitary plane carrying 10 people crashed just outside the main airport in India's capital on Tuesday, killing at least one person, an official said.
The plane, belonging to India's Border Security Force, crashed into the boundary wall at the airport and landed in a small body of water, said A.K. Sharma, director of Delhi Fire Services. Part of the plane was submerged under water, ABC News quoted him as saying.
One body has been recovered so far and the status of the other people aboard the plane is unclear, Sharma said.
The cause of the crash of the Super King aircraft was not immediately known. At least 15 fire engines and scores of police officials were at the crash site, Sharma said.
The plane was heading from New Delhi to the eastern city of Ranchi. It was carrying eight engineers and two pilots.
