Floods and landslides in the southeastern Philippines left at least 20 people dead, 13 missing and thousands displaced, officials said Monday. Most of the dead and missing were from Compostella Valley and Davao Oriental provinces, spokesman for the disaster-response agency Maj. Reynaldo Balido said. On Monday, a landslide in Cagdianao municipality in Dinagat Island, off the northeastern coast of the main southern island of Mindanao, damaged five houses, killing six residents including two children. According to media sources, 132,000 people from 10 provinces have been affected by the floods, triggered by rains from a low pressure area.
