Spanish police said they arrested a man accused of faking his own kidnapping to get his family to pay money he needed to settle his debts. Police in Valencia arrested the 30-year-old man from Lerida, identified only as Albert C. Ll. (full name not released), about one week ago when he was discovered walking alone and unharmed through the streets of Valencia, ThinkSpain reported Monday. The man allegedly hid in an apartment in Valencia and emailed his family to say he had been kidnapped and was in serious danger. He said his captors threatened to break one finger for every hour they waited for the ransom payment. It was not reported if the family paid any ransom money.
