
At least four people were killed after they were hit by a speeding train in Indias eastern state of Mahrashtra, Indian railway police sources said Sunday. The sources said the incident happened in Thane district of Mahrashtra after a speeding train ran over four persons between Thakurli and Kalyan railway station when they were busy conducting maintenance work on the tracks. The police said the four persons were not able to escape the speeding train when they were busy doing maintenance work at the tracks. The police identified the train as Koyna express and said all the dead have been sent to a nearby hospital for examination report. The incident occurred just a day after a speeding train killed eight people when they were crossing the railway track in Indias southern state of Andhra Pradesh.
