
Two people died and several injured after strong winds lashed southern England since Friday, and meteorological department warned windy weather would continue and people should remain cautious when going outside. A 49-year-old woman was killed after a building collapsed on her car near the Holborn Tube Station in London at late Friday night. In the meanwhile, another two passengers and a passer-by were also injured in the accident, and were then admitted to hospital for treatment. An 85-year-old man died after huge waves crashed through a window of a cruise ship with more than 700 passengers in the English Channel while several others were also wounded. The old man had been airlifted off the ship but died later. According to local media, about 32 people have been relocated from a beachfront restaurant in Hampshire after strong winds and tides smashed the ground floor. Cobra, the government's emergency committee, will hold emergency meetings in the weekend, working to response to the current situation. The meteorological department warned the bad weather would continue, more floods and landslips would occur as gusts and storms still battering parts of southern England.
