
A suicide attack targeting a foreign security compound in the Afghan capital Kabul on Tuesday has left two Afghan guards dead and a foreigner wounded, said officials.
Kabul police chief Lt. Gen. Zahir Zahir told media that the incident took place when an explosives-laden truck hit a foreign security compound 'Hard'. He said that the attack involved three attackers and all of them were killed in exchange of fire with security guards.
The incident occurred in Tarakhail locality of Kabul city. He confirmed that two Afghan guards securing the building were also killed and a foreigner was wounded in the incident. The nationality of the foreigner was not ascertained yet.
The police chief said, "The first attacker posing as worker was allowed to enter his explosives-laden truck carrying sand to the compound's building and detonated the explosives in the middle of the compound." He added that two other fighters were exchanging fire with security guards but both of them were killed.
The suicide attack came at a time when Afghan forces have taken control of overall security situation of the country as NATO/ISAF forces scheduled to leave Afghanistan till end of the year.
