It will take a week to decode the flight data recorder of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ) plane that crashed in Indonesia earlier this month, killing 45 people, the press service of the Russian Ministry for Trade and Industry said on Thursday. The parametric flight data recorder from the Russian SSJ 100 was found near the plane\'s crash site in Indonesia earlier on Thursday. The voice data recorder has already been recovered. “The flight data recorder is in good condition, and it will take about a week to decode the information, and then the investigation commission will have all the verified data on the jet’s systems, the crew behavior, the speed and the position of the liner,” the press service quoted Deputy Minister Yury Slusar, a member of the Russian-Indonesian investigating commission, as saying. Experts told Prime agency that the flight data recorder and the voice recorder would help establish the reasons behind the SSJ crash during a demonstration flight. Experts also said the flight data recorder could be damaged, which would make it difficult to decode the information. On Wednesday, Russian Trade and Industry Minister Denis Manturov said the preliminary causes of the crash could be announced within a month. The SSJ-100 is the first commercial plane designed and built in Russia since the fall of the Soviet Union two decades ago. It is considered by many in the industry to be Russia\'s last hope for maintaining a commercial aircraft manufacturing capability.
