State Railway of Thailand (SRT) north-bound train service is expected to resume operation Thursday after the suspension caused by derailment, which injured about 30 passengers on Wednesday. From Wednesday to Thursday morning, workers worked hard to retrieved all seven derailed carriages, according to Thai News Agency. The derailment took place early Wednesday morning in Denchai district of northern Phrae province injured more than 30 people, mostly foreign tourists, and suspended North-bound train service. However, trains from Denchai station are still operational further north to Chiang Mai province. Transport Minister Chadchat Sittipunt said on Wednesday the deteriorated condition of the tracks combined with bad weather may have caused the Bangkok-Chiang Mai train derailment.
