
One of the police officers who were wounded in an explosion in the Chechen capital city of Grozny has died in hospital, a spokesman for the Chechen department of the Russian Investigations Committee told TASS on Sunday.
“According to the latest data, the blast killed five policemen, twelve others received wounds,” the spokesman said, adding that on one from among civilians had been hurt.
A man who blew himself up in the Chechen capital city of Grozny on Sunday has been identified as a local resident, Opti Mudarov, 19.
“The man has been identified as a resident of the Staropromyslovsky district who has been missing since he left home two months ago,” the spokesman said.
An investigation is underway.

The incident took place at about 17:00 Moscow time near a concert hall in central Grozny.
“Police officers who were on duty at walk-through metal detectors saw a suspicious-looking young man, who activated an unidentified explosive device when police stopped him to check his documents,” the spokesman said.
The killed police officers will be decorated with state awards.
A criminal case on charges of assaulting police officers and illegal possession on weapons was opened over the blast in the Chechen capital city of Grozny, a spokesman for the Chechen department of the Russian Investigations Committee told TASS on Sunday.
