Ankara - Anadolu

At least 24 people, including 11 policemen, were injured in nationwide illegal protests following the Monday's deadly suicide attack in southern Turkey.

The protests come after a suspected Daesh suicide bomb attack on Monday killed at least 32 people and wounded more than 100 others in Suruc town of southeastern Sanliurfa province.

The suicide bomber identified as Seyh Abdurrahman Alagoz reportedly blew himself up at a gathering of activists planning to help rebuild the nearby Syrian town of Kobani.

On Thursday, two police officers were gunned down in Diyarbakir province. One of them has died and the other remains critical.

In an illegal demonstration in Sariyer district of Istanbul -- Turkey's largest province -- held hours after Monday's attack, two police were wounded by gunfire. Police officers detained a total of 51 people and seized three hand-made bombs, 203 petrol bombs, one rifle, 125 bullets and 40 fireworks, as well as two firework launchers.

Among the other provinces where pro-Kurdish demonstrators staged illegal protests were Diyarbakir, Siirt, Mardin, Adiyaman, Mardin, Sirnak, Bitlis and Mersin.

In southern province of Mersin, two people were lightly wounded when pro-Kurdish protesters came under fire from a building with a pomp action rifle on the day of the attack.

Three police officers and seven civilians were injured in another illegal demonstration in which gun and petrol bombs were used in Mersin on Tuesday.

On Thursday, five police officers and 11 people were wounded by fire opened during a protest held in the Tarsus district of Mersin.

In eastern Siirt province, a policeman identified as Ahmet Koc, 27, was taken to hospital after being hit with a stone in the head in Tuesday's protest.

Police detained a total of 10 suspects, three of whom were released after testifying and seven others were later freed by a court.

In southeastern Mardin province, one civilian, Naile Agirman was injured by a gas canister on Tuesday and was treated at a hospital in Nusaybin district.

In a separate incident in Diyarbakir on Wednesday, a group of armed and masked people closed traffic on the Diyarbakir-Bingol highway and set fire to a tow truck with a petrol bomb.

Another group set fire to three tractors and a long truck in Diyarbakir’s Silvan district.

In southeastern Adiyaman province, police dispersed protesters with tear gas and cannon water, and detained three people as many shops and vehicles were damaged.

In eastern Sirnak province, an unidentified group attacked a military officer's vehicle with a petrol bomb during an illegal protest; police seized five explosives and 47 petrol bombs.

Bomb-disposal experts defused two devices following another protest in Cizre district of the Sirnak province.

In eastern provinces of Bitlis and Hakkari, protests erupted following Monday's attack, with demonstrators attacking the post office and one of its vehicles.

In addition, three armed members of the outlawed Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) set fire to three long trucks, the Governor’s Office in eastern Van province said Thursday.

A separate investigation is underway after two police officers were found shot dead in their shared home in Ceylanpinar on Wednesday.

The attack was claimed by the PKK in apparent retaliation for the Suruc bombing.
