Vehicle crash kills 12 in India

A sports utility vehicle skidded off a road in India\'s Himachal Pradesh state and plunged into a deep canyon, killing its 12 occupants, police said. The accident occurred Sunday night in Chamba district in the mountainous northern state north of New Delhi, police said. The Press Trust of India reported the victims were returning after playing a cricket match. The vehicle skidded off a road and plunged into the canyon, more than 2,400 feet below, the news agency said. The Times of India reported the victims were residents of a village. The bodies of all of them had been recovered by Monday.
