A Chinese vessel has rammed and sank a Vietnamese fishing boat, Vietnamese authorities said Monday, amid rising tensions between the two countries over competing territorial claims, as dpa reported. According to the Vietnamese Fisheries Resources Surveillance Department, 40 Chinese fishing boats surrounded a group of Vietnamese vessels that were operating near the Paracel islands. The ship's 10 crewmen were rescued by other Vietnamese fishing boats
