The State Security Court of the UAE Federal Supreme Court rejected
Abu Dhabi - Emirates Voice

The State Security Court of the UAE Federal Supreme Court rejected, during its session yesterday, the appeal by "A.M.J", a 30-year-old Emirati, and upheld the ruling by the Abu Dhabi Federal Appeal Court, to sentence him to life in prison while obliging him to cover all the costs of the case.
The Abu Dhabi Federal Appeal Court had convicted the Emirati of attempted murder with the intent of committing a terrorist act, attempting to join the terrorist Al Nusra Front in Syria and travelling to Turkey to achieve this goal. It also convicted him of planning to commit terrorist crimes and attempting to blow up sensitive areas by using explosives and live ammunition with the intent of committing a terrorist act. The court also convicted him of establishing accounts on social media, Twitter and Facebook, to promote the ideas of Al Qaida and Daesh and encouraging youth, through these accounts, to join these terrorist organisations.
In another case, the court upheld the innocence of "H.H.B", a 37-year-old from Comoros, and two Emiratis, "Kh.H.M", a 24-year-old, and "Y.A.S" a 25-year-old. The State Security Court rejected the appeal from the prosecutor on a previous ruling by the Abu Dhabi Federal Appeal Court and the case judge regarding their innocence from all charges. The prosecutor also directed and demanded to intensify the ruling against them.
The Appeal Court ruled on the innocence of the three accused men from the charges of joining the terrorist organisation, the Al Nusra Front in Syria, as well as possessing an unlicensed weapon and spreading information through Whatsapp, with the aim of promoting the ideas of Daesh.
In a third case, the court set the date for a 25 year old Emirati woman, "M.S.Sh", to 5th June, 2017, to announce its ruling, as she presented her appeal at the Federal Supreme Court on a previous ruling against her by the Abu Dhabi Federal Appeal Court and the case judge, to punish her with imprisonment for five years after being convicted of attempting to join Daesh, communicating with elements working for the organisation through social media, providing money to the organisation and establishing accounts on social media to promote the ideas of the terrorist organisation. The accused appealed the ruling and demanded that the court transfer her from Al Wathba Prison to another punitive establishment due to her psychological and health conditions.
At the end of the session, the court instructed the prosecutor to review her request, in consideration of her health conditions.
