Worker molests 10-year-old girl at Dubai park

A 34-year-old park employee has been charged with molesting a 10-year-old girl after spotting her alone at the park. The Dubai Court of First Instance heard the Pakistani irrigation worker approached the Arab girl, hugged her and kissed her twice.

He denied a molestation charge in court.

The incident allegedly happened on August 29 and a complaint was filed at the Jebel Ali police station.

"I was taking care of the daughter of my sponsor and two other children as they played in the park. I spotted the accused approaching one of the girls who was in our company and hugging her from behind. I shouted at him and told him to move away and then took all the children away from him," a 48-year-old Filipina housekeeper said.

"I asked the girl what the defendant did and she told me he kissed her. I took them then to my sponsor's house and called the girl's mother to inform her about the incident. She arrived later with the police."

The officers arrested the defendant at the park shortly later.

The girl, whose testimony was heard during the investigation, said she was playing when the accused grabbed her by the hip and

kissed her.
