Real Mallorca coach Joaquin Caparros has penned a new contract to remain in charge of the Primera Division club for the 2012/13 season. Caparros took over at Mallorca in October following the resignation of Michael Laudrup and led the Balearic Island outfit to an eighth-placed finish. The 56-year-old, whose initial contract was due to run out on 30 June, said: "I'm very happy with this agreement. I'm looking forward to my second season in Mallorca with high hopes and a lot of enthusiasm." Caparros counts the likes of Athletic Bilbao, Sevilla, Deportivo La Coruna and Villarreal among his former clubs.
