Igor de Camargo netted a brace as Genk got their Belgian Pro League season off to a winning start as one of three home teams to record a 3-1 victory on Saturday to move top of the table.
The 32-year-old striker opener the scoring against Leuven just before the half-hour mark but Jovan Kostovski equalised for the away side, while Julien Gorius and De Camargo - with his second late on - added the gloss.
Oostende are hot on Genk's heels as they won by the same scoreline at home to Mechelen. Michael Jonckheere netted midway through the first half to put Oostende ahead before Fernando Canesin made it two. Joachim Van Damme pulled one back for the visitors on the hour mark, while Sebastien Siani fired in a last-minute third for the hosts.
Zulte-Waregem also claimed a 3-1 win as they took on 10-man Lokeren and posted goals through Bryan Verboom, Mbaye Leye and Jesper Jorgensen, with Ayanda Patosi netting the away side's reply.
Lokeren lost Cyriel Dessers to a red card with 15 minutes remaining.
Elsewhere, Kortrijk edged a 2-1 victory at home to Standard Liege as a brace from Maxime Chanot sandwiched Anthony Knockaert's penalty seven minutes after the break.
