New Zealand beat Sri Lanka by 167 runs on the fifth and last day of the second and final Test at the P. Sara Oval in Colombo on Thursday to level the series 1-1. Sri Lanka, chasing a 363-run target, were bowled out for 195 in their second innings in the final session. Angelo Mathews top-scored for the hosts with a fighting 84.
