Italy go into the second week of the Olympics with six gold medals after their quartet triumphed in the team foil. Andrea Baldini, Andrea Cassara\', Valerio Aspromonte and Giorgio Avola beat Japan 45-39 on Sunday\'s final, which also left Italy top of the fencing standings at the London Games. Elisa Di Francisca, Arianna Errigo, Valentina Vezzali and Ilaria Salvatori also won gold in the women\'s foil last week after Di Francisca came top of an all-Italian podium in the individual event. Diego Occhiuzzi win silver in the men\'s individual sabre and was part of the foursome that took bronze in the team sabre for a tally of seven fencing medals, including three golds. Shooter Jessica Rossi had claimed Italy\'s fifth gold overall on Saturday when she won the women\'s trap with a world record score, hitting 99 out of 100 targets. The Azzurri also struck gold with Daniele Molmenti, who triumphed in the K1 kayak canoe slalom event last Wednesday, his 28th birthday, and with the men\'s archery team of Michele Frangilli, Marco Galiazzo and Mauro Nespoli. Italy were sixth in the Olympic medals table at the end of the ninth day of competition on Sunday with six golds, five silvers and three bronzes for a total of 14.
