Fit-again Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac is hoping to finally kick-start his career with his boyhood club. The France international has seen his spell at the Stade Velodrome disrupted by a series of injuries and has struggled for form when available. But he showed signs of promise in the early stages of this season and after scoring his sixth goal of the campaign on his comeback against his former club Toulouse on Saturday, he hopes that is a sign he can pick up where he left off. \"I left the group while my confidence was high and I have returned after seven weeks out as if I had never been away,\" he said. \"I am not at 100 per cent yet, I still need match rhythm. I want a good run up to the winter break to get my form back. After two very difficult years, I don\'t have any more time to waste.\" This year, after a full preparation, I have regained the confidence of my coach and team-mates. Andre-Pierre Gignac, Marseille striker Gignac scored 11 goals in his first season following a big-money transfer, but only one last season in 25 appearances in all competitions. That coincided with a difficult campaign for the club, in which they won the Coupe de la Ligue but finished in 10th place in the league. Gignac admitted: \"When we were 10th, that is just not possible for the town, for the image of the club - we were ashamed. I was not happy and when I am not happy, I do not have the hunger to play football. These last few years, I have never had a proper summer preparation. I think that is why I have not performed well. This year, after a full preparation, I have regained the confidence of my coach and team-mates. \"I want to see out the two years of my contract here. When things are going well, there is nowhere better than OM. I want to prove that a Marseillais can succeed at Marseille.\" From FIFA
