Italian strugglers Chievo on Monday announced that Rolando Maran will take over as their new coach, replacing Eugenio Corini, who was sacked after Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Roma.
Chievo dropped into the relegation zone following the rout at Roma's Olympic Stadium on Saturday, where the 'Flying Donkeys' barely mustered a shot on goal.
That left the Verona-based side second from bottom of Italy's top flight having suffered five defeats in seven games.
The 51-year-old Maran is well known at Chievo having turned out for them 330 times as a player. He has previous coaching experience at Catania, but was sacked in April as the Sicilian side headed toward relegation from Serie A.
Corini was the first manager in the Italian top flight to lose his job this season.
