Lisbon - Arabstoday

Newly-crowned champions Porto scored two late goals after Sporting Lisbon had been reduced to nine men to snatch a 2-0 victory in the Portuguese Liga tonight. American defender Oguchi Onyewu saw red for a second bookable offence in the 67th minute and Anderson Polga got a straight red when conceding the 82nd minute penalty Hulk used to break the deadlock. The Brazilian striker then bagged another in the 89th minute to confirm the win, but the Porto copybook was blotted by a late red card for Francisco Fernando. Second-placed Benfica remain six points adrift after they saw off rock-bottom Uniao Leiria 1-0 thanks to Bruno Cesar's 21st minute goal. And Braga, who sit third, also earned a narrow win, beating Beira Mar 1-0 with a 55th minute goal from Custodio to make sure of their place in the Champions League qualifying spots. Academica climbed out of the relegation zone with a 1-0 win over Vitoria Setubal courtesy of Edinho's 41st minute goal, with Vitoria also suffering the loss of Bruno Gallo to a late red card for a second bookable offence. Academica's place in the bottom two is taken by Feirense, who surrendered an early lead and then conceded two late goals in going down Guimaraes 3-1. Bedi Buval gave them a third-minute lead but Mahamadou N'Diaye levelled four minutes before the break and goals from Jonathan Urreta and El Arbi Soudani in the final three minutes saw Guimaraes snatch the points. Nacional likewise came from behind to beat Gil Vicente 3-1. The visitors led through Huga Vieira's 35th-minute goal, but Claudemir Ferriera had Nacional level on half-time before Ladji Keita and Mario Rondon turned it around in the second half. Joao Tomas scored early an late as Rio Ave took a point from a 2-2 draw at Pacos Ferreira. Tomas put the visitors in front after eight minutes, only for Lorenzo Melgarejo to level ten minutes later. Arturo Alvarez's 86th-minute goal looked like winning it for the hosts, particularly when Tiago Pinto committed a second bookable offence moments later, but Tomas' last minute strike earned a draw. Olhanense and Maritimo played to a goalless draw.
