Argentinian giants River Plate advanced to the final of the Copa Libertadores after battling to a 1-1 draw against Guarani of Paraguay to seal a 3-1 aggregate victory.
River, leading 2-0 from the first leg in Buenos Aires, fought back after Fernando Fernandez fired Guarani into the lead from close range on 62 minutes, moments after hitting the post.
However Guarani's hopes of overturning their two-goal first leg deficit were snuffed out 11 minutes from time after a clever finish from Lucas Alario.
The 22-year-old striker latched onto a long ball from midfield and lobbed the advancing goalkeeper Alfredo Aguilar to make it 1-1 on the night, 3-1 overall.
River will face the winner of the second semi-final between Internacional of Brazil and Mexican side Tigres.
Inter, who play the second leg in Mexico on Wednesday, lead 2-1 after the first leg.
