Turkey defender Omer Toprak has signed a two-year contract extension with Bayer Leverkusen, the Bundesliga club confirmed. "With us, he has become one of the best central defenders in the Bundesliga and we are happy Omer has opted to stay with us for the long term," Leverkusen CEO Michael Schade said. Along with Stefan Kiessling, Lars Bender and Bernd Leno, Toprak is the fourth key player recently to extend his contract with Bayer, who face Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League. The 24-year-old Toprak joined Leverkusen from Freiburg in 2011 and has made 19 appearances for Turkey. Source: FIFA.com
