Werder Bremen sign Pavlovic from NK Zagreb

Werder Bremen have confirmed the signing of defender Mateo Pavlovic from Croatian side NK Zagreb for an undisclosed fee. The 22-year-old centre-back has agreed a contract until June 2016, and will be formally introduced when the squad re-starts training following the Bundesliga\'s winter break on 3 January. Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf told the club\'s official website: \"He is a big centre-back who is strong in challenges and in the air and has a good technique. Mateo gives us a player who improves our team with his qualities.\" Pavlovic, a Croatia U-21 international, added: \"I am very happy to take the next step of my career.
