Yokohama F. Marinos kicked off the new J.League season with a 2-0 win over Omiya Ardija. Jungo Fujimoto scored the opener in the 17th minute while Sho Ito doubled the margin of victory three minutes from the end. The day's other match between Kawasaki Frontale and Vissel Kobe ended in a 2-2 draw. Kobe went ahead after 18 minutes through Fabio Simplicio but the hosts levelled within a minute through Yu Kobayashi. Kengo Nakamura then fired Kawasaki into a 28th-minute lead, and it looked all set to stay that way until injury time when substitute Ryo Matsumura hit the equaliser. Source: FIFA.com
