Abu Dhabi – Arabstoday
Al Nasr ensured a second-place finish in the UAE League after a 2-2 draw against nearest challengers Al Shabab in the season finale. With the pair battling for supremacy behind champions Al Ain, Al Shabab took the lead through Welker Almeida. The visitors equalised after 53 minutes with a goal from Habib Fardan and Mark Bresciano's strike five minutes from time put them ahead. Jociel Ciel levelled things up once more in the dying seconds, but the draw was enough to keep Al Nasr in second place. Al Emirates beat Al Wahda 2-1, but it was not enough to save them from the bottom two as Dubai SC also won. Two goals from Diakoba Diara put Al Emirates in the driving seat, with Saeed Al-Kathiri pulling one back after 54 minutes. But they finish the season three points behind Dubai, who were 2-0 winners over Al Jazira thanks to strikes from Hassan Mohammed and Abbas Atawi. Sharjeh came from two goals to draw 2-2 with Bani Yas after goals in the last five minutes from Salem Jasem and Mohammed Suroor. Haboush Saleh and Mohammed Fawzi had given Bani Yas the lead.
