President of Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) Nasser bin Ghanem Al Khulaifi expressed Saturday his delight at the great success of the 15th edition of the Qatar Total Open, which was concluded after Lucie Safarova beat Victoria Azarenka to win the title.
After the match, Al Khulaifi said that the competition was a massive success and enjoyed great media coverage. The competition also hosted a large number of top-seeded players, Al Khulaifi added. Five of the top 10 seeds participated in this year's competition.
The President of QTF added that the competition succeeded in reflecting how the State of Qatar has come leaps in terms of its ability to host sporting competitions.
Responding to Qatar News Agency (QNA) question on the final, QTF President said that the match was enjoyable and added that Safarova deserved the win. He added that it was good to see a new champion this year.
