Qatar wins GCC basketball championship

Qatar defended its title and won the 13th GCC Basketball Championship after beating Bahrain 74-64 here on Saturday. Saudi Arabia came third following their victory over Oman 70-54. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) came third though. The first three are automatically qualified for the Asian championship which will be held in Lebanon. Kuwait did not participate in the tournament because of the international ban.
