Ahmadinejad congratulates triumph of national weightlifting team

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Monday congratulated Iranian nation and sports community on the triumph of the National Weightlifting Team in the World Weightlifting Championship competitions in France. Expressing best wishes for the Iranian athletes, President Ahmadinejad appreciated efforts of members of the National Weightlifting Team including athletes, coaches and technical managers. Iran’s National Weightlifting Team grabbed the third international ranking for the first time in the past 50 years acquiring 495 scores. The Iranian athletes gained five gold medals, two silvers, and four bronzes in the 79th World Weightlifting Championships held in the French capital of Paris. National weightlifting teams of China and Russia became first and second, respectively in the championship games. Athletes (weightlifters) from 93 countries attended the competitions.
