Justin Masterson allowed three hits over seven innings Wednesday helping the Cleveland Indians break an 11-game losing streak with a 6-2 win over Minnesota. The win was the first for Cleveland since July 26 when the Indians beat Detroit 5-3. The Indians were outscored 95-36 over the course of the losing streak, which ended one short of the franchise record. Cleveland dropped 12 straight games in May 1931. Masterson (8-10) surrendered both Twins runs, three hits and four walks while striking out seven in a seven-inning outing. One of the hits he allowed was a two-run home run by Alexi Casilla after Brian Dozier walked in leading off the fifth inning. Cleveland, however, had scored two runs in each of the first two innings off Minnesota starter Brian Duensing (2-7). Shin-Soo Choo doubled in the first Cleveland run and scored the second on a Carlos Santana base hit. Choo also had an RBI single that made the score 4-0. Casey Kotchman knocked in a run on a fielder\'s choice and reached home on a Jason Kipnis sacrifice fly as Cleveland added two runs in the sixth.
