Champions League: Arsenal Suffer Embarrassing Defeat to Bayern
London - Arab Today
Arsenal suffered the Champions League second biggest aggregate loss in history after it lost 1-5 today to Bayern. That took the aggregate score to 2-10, after The Gunners lost with the same score line away to Bayern. The German team hold the record for the largest margin of victory in the Champions League knockout phase by virtue of a 12-1 aggregate win over Sporting Lisbon in the 2009 round of 16. Arsenal join Werder Bremen (10-2 loss to Lyon in the 2005 round of 16) and Bayer Leverkusen (10-2 defeat to Barcelona in the 2012 round of 16) as teams to lose Champions League knockout ties by eight goals on aggregate. It was the seventh consecutive last-16 exit for the Londoners.
Arsenal took the lead through Theo Walcott and finished the first-half up 1-0. They collapsed however in the second half after Laurent Koscielny was sent off and committed a penalty which Robert Lewandowski converted to equalize. Arjen Robben, Douglas Costa, and Arturo Vidal (two goals) completed the scoring to take Bayern to the next round.

Paris - Emiratesvoice
Two months after legendary designer Azzedine Alaia's sudden death plunged the fashion world into mourning, an exhibition in homage to the "King of Cling" opens Monday in his studios in Paris. The Tunisian-born designer, renowned for the way his clothes hugged the body, died suddenly in November aged 82, reportedly of heart failure after falling down the stairs at his home. The diminutive maverick, who ignored fashion week convention by showing when and where he wanted, in July produced his first couture collection in six years to rapturous reviews. Now some of his most iconic dresses are going on display in the glass-roofed gallery next to his studio and home in the Marais district where he used to show his creations.
