Eight straight points from Joseph Bertrand fueled a game-closing Illinois run Wednesday and the No. 22 Illini pulled away for a 75-62 win over Georgia Tech. Illinois remained unbeaten in eight games, but found itself trailing 58-54 inside the 7-minute mark. Bertrand hit two 3-pointers and then threw home a dunk to ignite a 21-4 surge that finished off the contest. Bertrand and Brandon Paul both scored 15 points while Tyler Griffey and D.J. Richardson had 14 each for Illinois. Georgia Tech was led by Kammeon Holsey with 14 points. The Yellow Jackets (4-2) have dropped two out of three.
