Djokovic, Sharapova look ahead to the US Open

Sharapova also comes to New York on a high note, having won last week in Cincinnati for her second victory of the year. That title and a final appearance at Wimbledon this summer have given the Russian hope that years of fighting back from injury are finally over. Sharapova said, \"Personally it was a big step for me in a real good direction because I hadn\'t gone far at Wimbledon in a couple of years. And within this whole year I have felt like my game has improved. It\'s been a long journey back since my shoulder surgery, so it\'s been a nice year so far and going into the last Grand Slam of the year this is kind of where all the efforts go into and I think everyone\'s just going to fight for that last spot.\" It\'s a spot that Novak Djokovic has become used to this year as he looks to add one more Grand Slam title to a record-setting season.
