FIFA Decides Against Hosting World Cup 2026 in Europe

FIFA Council agreed Friday that UEFA and Asian confederation members should not bid for the 2026 World Cup.
They said that members for both confederations will host the 2018 and the 2022 editions. As a result, the council said it prefers members of other continents to host the 2026 World Cup, However, the council agreed that Europe would be put on hold if the bids received fail to fulfill the strict technical and financial requirements, AP reported. FIFA has targeted 2020 for its member federations to choose the 2026 host.
