Haye defeats Chisora in fifth round of grudge match

David Haye settled his grudge showdown with a fifth round stoppage of British heavyweight rival Dereck Chisora in front of over 30,000 spectators at Upton Park on Saturday. Former world heavyweight and cruiserweight champion Haye floored Chisora with a left hook to the temple in the fifth round and then followed up with the same shot to the chin to deposit his rival on the canvas again. Referee Luis Pabon waved the fight off after the second knockdown. It was Chisora\'s first stoppage defeat and a victory that Haye hopes keeps him in contention for a shot at WBC world champion Vitali Klitschko. \"I\'ve sent out a very scary message. I\'ll be surprised if Vitali Klitschko wants to fight me after that. He will no doubt try to fight some chump and then retire to be a politician,\" said Haye. The fight was organised to settle a bitter feud that began when Haye and Chisora brawled at a press conference in Munich in February following Chisora\'s world heavyweight title defeat on points by Klitschko. The incident, which was investigated by German police, was widely condemned throughout the British boxing community and the governing British Boxing Board of Control indefinitely suspended the 28-year-old Chisora.
