Viktor Salberg scored early in the third period to give the Chicago Blackhawks the cushion they needed to fend off St. Louis 3-2 Tuesday. Salberg beat Brian Elliot from the faceoff circle despite close coverage from the Blues defense to give the Blackhawks a 3-0 and keep Chicago undefeated after three games. Patrick Kane and Brent Seabrook also scored for Chicago in support of Corey Crawford, who notched 32 saves in the victory. St. Louis lost for the first time this season, but made it interesting with third-period goals by Andy McDonald and T.J. Oshie. Elliot allowed all three Chicago goals on 26 shots. From UPI
