Barzagli returns to Italy squad for Serbia & Northern Ireland

The centre-back has received a call-up for his national team for the first time since 2008, while Atalanta\'s Luca Cigarini could make his debut. Italy coach Cesare Prandelli has announced his 23-man squad for the upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers away against Serbia on October 7 and at home versus Northern Ireland four days later.Prandelli has handed Juventus defender Andrea Barzagli his first call-up since 2008, while Atalanta midfielder Luca Cigarini could make his debut for Italy\'s senior side.Inter pair Thiago Motta and Andrea Ranocchia and Fiorentina\'s Alberto Gilardino have not been named due to various injury problems. Italy sit top of the table in Group C of the Euro 2012 qualification campaign, with 22 points from eight games. They have already qualified for next year\'s tournament in Poland and Ukraine.
