Santos blow for Arsenal
London - Arabstoday
Arsenal defender Andre Santos has been ruled out for around three months with an injury to his right ankle. The left-back sustained the problem in last week\'s 3-1 UEFA Champions League defeat against Olympiacos in Greece. A statement on the club\'s official website read: \"We can confirm that, following investigations and subsequent medical opinions by club specialists, left-back Andre Santos will have surgery to repair ligament damage in his right ankle sustained in the game against Olympiacos last week. \"Andre will have surgery in Brazil this week and is expected to be out for around three months. Everyone at the club wishes him well.\" The 28-year-old Brazilian joined the club in August and has made 14 appearances, scoring in the 5-3 Barclays Premier League win at Chelsea and the 2-1 home defeat of Olympiacos in north London.

Paris - Emiratesvoice
Two months after legendary designer Azzedine Alaia's sudden death plunged the fashion world into mourning, an exhibition in homage to the "King of Cling" opens Monday in his studios in Paris. The Tunisian-born designer, renowned for the way his clothes hugged the body, died suddenly in November aged 82, reportedly of heart failure after falling down the stairs at his home. The diminutive maverick, who ignored fashion week convention by showing when and where he wanted, in July produced his first couture collection in six years to rapturous reviews. Now some of his most iconic dresses are going on display in the glass-roofed gallery next to his studio and home in the Marais district where he used to show his creations.
