Czech MotoGP star Karel Abraham and Moto3 compatriot Jakub Kornfeil led a record 1,349 riders on track at Brno on Sunday. Exceeding the usual circuit capacity by 21 times, the record attempt was inspired by a similar mass ride-out (1,000 riders) performed at the Czech Grand Prix circuit by motorbike enthusiasts last year, as a tribute for the late Marco Simoncelli. “I think the outcome is amazing. This was one of the first opportunities for bikers to get together after winter,” said Abraham, whose fan club members were in charge of counting the participants. Each participant was given a sticker with the logo of the Brno Circuit. The exact number of bikers was based on the number of stickers issued. Aside from street motorcycles, scooters, mopeds and classic Czech-made Jawa bikes took part. Brno will host round twelve of the 2012 MotoGP World Championship on August 24-26.
