Bayern Munich eased into the second round of the DFB-Pokal thanks to a comfortable 4-0 win over Bavarian rivals Jahn Regensburg. Three of Bayern\'s summer signings shared the four goals on a hot and humid night in Bavaria. Mario Mandzukic put the visitors in front in the 32nd minute and Xherdan Shaqiri added a second after an hour. Shaqiri then turned provider for Mandzukic\'s second and a late strike from Claudio Pizarro to book Bayern\'s place in the draw for round two. With temperatures soaring in southern Germany, it was an understandably slow-paced affair, but there was never any doubt as to who was in control of the game as Bayern stamped their superiority early. It took them over half an hour to open the scoring, which they did when Franck Ribery\'s low cross was stroked into an open goal by Mandzukic. The home side then tested Manuel Neuer a few times, but Bayern were always in control. They doubled their lead on the hour mark when Shaqiri curled in a free-kick beyond the reach of Regensburg goalkeeper Michael Hofmann. The Swiss signing from FC Basel then set up Mandzukic for his second. The Croatian took the ball round Hofmann and then found the goal from a tight angle in the 82nd minute. And there was time for Shaqiri to set up another new signing with Pizarro meeting his cross on the volley to fire Bayern into round two from ten yards out. Elsewhere, Dynamo Dresden beat Chemnitz 3-0 and SV Sandhausen beat 2. Bundesliga rivals Energie Cottbus while Union Berlin needed extra time to see off Rot-Weiss Essen. FIFA
